Mount Snow

Mount Snow in Vermont is a family friendly ski resort that doesn’t just offer great downhill and cross-country skiing, but plenty of fun for the whole family from beginner to advanced skier.

Vermont Family Fun Vacations

Ice skating, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, snowboarding and many different types of skiing are available which make winter time the best time to visit Mount Snow. Snowmobile tours and a tubing park are also available, as well as ski and snowboard programs and competition programs. The resort can create snow for 80 percent of the skiable 588 acres, with the longest run coming in at about one mile. A ski school for adults and children is available, that can help novices learn skills to enjoy one of their top-rated terrain parks. With skiing on four faces of the mountain, 12 terrain parks and 80 trails to choose from, the biggest challenge at Mount Snow will be figuring out where to ski or snowboard first.

Off the Slopes

Mount Snow Valley is full of quaint shops, restaurants and lounges. Cabs, limousine and bus service run in Mount Snow. A great free way to get to Mount Snow from Wilmington or Dover–it runs between them and makes about 30 stops including Mount Snow–is the MOOver. There are racks for skis and snowboards. Mount Snow has great lodging accommodations whether you want a fine hotel experience when on vacation for slopeside lodging, but there are other lodges, hotels and condominiums available both at the mountain and in the valley.

Getting Here

Getting to Mount Snow is easy, and you have many choices. From the Amtrak Vermonter for those who want to travel by train, to the bus service offered, to the MOOver if you come via Dover or Wilmington, you have options if you’d rather not drive. If you’re driving, the shortest drive is from Albany, New York. From New York City and Rhode Island, you’d follow I-90 to Mount Snow, but from Albany, take I-90 to I-787. Take that north to Route 7 East which becomes Route 9 once you’re in Vermont. Follow that 21 miles to Wilmington. You can take the MOOver shuttle from there or drive by turning left at the stoplight at Rte 100 north and follow that about 9 miles to Mount Snow.
