Saddleback is one of Maine’s best-kept secrets. It’s hidden in the beautiful Rangely Lakes region of Western Maine and has long been a family favorite.

Nostalgic Charm

This gorgeous, family-owned resort offers exceptionally low prices, unique charm, amazingly helpful staff, great amenities, and huge thrills. The stats are impressive. The ski area has more than 2,000-vertical feet to ski and shred, there are more than 200 acres and nearly 70 trails to enjoy. Beginners can enjoy 38 percent of the terrain, intermediate skiers and riders can enjoy 29 percent, and the remaining trails are ideal for advanced and expert skiers and riders. There are several lift-access glades, several terrain parks, and the longest trail is 3.1 miles long. Saddleback boasts snowmaking ability on 85 percent of the terrain and receives around 225 inches of snow per season.

Off the Slopes

The lodge is incredibly well appointed, not to mention beautiful, spacious, and modern. It offers fully licensed daycare services, a food court, ski and ride school, concierge service, ski patrol and first aid, a rental and retail shop, and an award-winning pub with spectacular views. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything that skiers and riders need on and off the slopes.

There are several great dining options available on the mountain. There is a delightful café with great snacks, lunches, and desserts, and a little coffee bar, perfect for warming up after a few runs. The food court is a traditional ski resort cafeteria with a selection of hearty, warm meals. Saddleback also has a pub, perfect for après ski, which has tasty microbrews, grand vistas, and a relaxing atmosphere.

Lodging is varied and all visitors are sure to find something that suits them. Saddleback offers several ski in / ski out condominiums ranging from quaint one bedrooms all the way up to family friendly four-bedroom units. They have ski and stay specials, private rental homes, and other vacation package discounts. There are plenty of options in the area, including grand historic lodges, cozy bed and breakfasts, hotels, and motels.

Saddleback is located in the heart of Rangeley in the gorgeous Rangeley Lakes Region of Western Maine. Interstate 95 is the primary access highway from Maine, Southern New Hampshire, Southern New England, and New York City. The two closest airports are Portland International Jetport and Bangor International Airport.
